Plump, Lucious Lips with Lip Augmentation in CA

Achieving the sumptuous lips of movie stars and models is possible without complex procedures and without serious downtime. There are many different types of lip enhancement procedures available, and at The Image Center, we can find the one that is perfect for you.

Even people who were lucky enough to have been born with full, supple lips can find that sun exposure, hormonal changes, and aging have led to a loss of lip volume. Lip enhancement is safe, simple, and affordable, and it’s extremely popular for many good reasons.

Boost your appearance and give yourself a healthy dose of self-confidence with lip fillers at The Image Center.

What Is a Lip Filler Procedure?

Lip augmentation is a cosmetic procedure that gives you fuller, plumper lips to achieve your aesthetic goals. Lip fillers are injected directly into the lips via a very tiny needle. These lip fillers enhance the structure and shape of lips, and at the same time, they also enhance the volume.

A lip augmentation procedure is done right at one of our locations, and it doesn’t take a lot of time. In addition, there is little to no downtime afterward.

However, there is one small exception: If we inject fat into the lips instead of a filler, your procedure will require a bit of liposuction to remove fat from elsewhere in your body to use in the lips. Therefore, a procedure like this would take more time.

Types of Lip Fillers

Various types of lip fillers are available, but the most popular are those that contain hyaluronic acid. This acid is a natural substance found inside the body, so there’s no worry about introducing foreign substances to your beautiful lips.

Hyaluronic acid lip fillers on the market include products like:

  • Juvéderm Ultra
  • Belotero Balance
  • Juvéderm Ultra Plus
  • Hylaform
  • Restylane
  • Juvéderm Volbella XC
  • Restylane-L
  • Prevelle Silk
  • Restylane Silk

Although all of these are injected using the same techniques, some lip fillers have different properties than others. For example, some of them contain a local anesthetic called lidocaine, and others do not.

If you have any allergies, make sure to let our team know during your initial consultation so we can select a lip filler for you that does not contain that ingredient.

Reasons Why People Seek Lip Augmentation

Everyone is their own worst critic, and that’s not a bad thing. You deserve to look and feel your best, and lip fillers can give you the boost you need to feel fantastic about your appearance.

Some of the most common reasons people come to The Image Center for lip enhancement include:

  • Concerns about the shape of their lips
  • A thin upper lip or a lip that is turned in
  • A reduced definition of lip borders
  • A general overall lip volume reduction
  • Lines around, above, or below the lips

The cosmetic fillers we use are FDA-approved, safe, and considered to be the “next generation” of lip fillers.

Preparing for Your Procedure

Most lip augmentation procedures only take 20-30 minutes to complete. If you take any blood thinners like ibuprofen or aspirin, you may be asked to discontinue those prior to your appointment.

Plan to wear comfortable clothing on the day of your appointment, including a button-down shirt or at least a shirt with a wide-open neck. This way, when getting ready for bed later, you won’t have to pull anything over your head and lips.

What to Expect During a Lip Filler Procedure

When you come in for your procedure appointment, we’ll first make sure that all of your questions have been answered and that you are clear about the product that will be used. We’ll also make sure you’re comfortable.

We can apply a topical or local numbing agent before the injections to make sure you stay comfortable. There is also the possibility of having injections done before the procedure that contain a nerve block, which would completely numb your lips. These injections are similar to those given at a dentist’s office before dental procedures.

Another option for numbing the area is to hold ice to the lips. An added benefit to using ice is that it can help afterward, as well. We’ll mark the areas that will be injected, and then very small needles will be used to deliver your lip fillers into the designated areas.

Lip Enhancement: The Results

Following your appointment, we’ll ask you to refrain from putting direct pressure on your lips. You’ll notice results right away, and after healing is complete, your lips will feel completely natural and look absolutely fabulous. Recovery time is minimal, and most of our patients go right back to their normal daily routines after their procedures.

You can expect your results to last anywhere from six to twelve months; there are many factors that determine exactly how long a person’s results will last. Once you notice that the effects of your lip augmentation are diminishing, you can schedule another appointment with us for a follow-up round of lip filler injections.
